Dear Dog Owner,
My name is Caity Hastings, owner and head dog trainer at Balanced Behavior Inc. I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, with professional experience caring for and training dogs since 2007. I founded Balanced Behavior in 2013, and after years of planning and growth, we opened our current boarding and daycare facility in Windsor in March of 2018.
With nearly two decades of experience, I have worked with hundreds of dogs of all breeds and temperaments. I regularly collaborate with trainers, rescues, and veterinarians and attend continuing education conferences to stay current in the field. I believe training should be individualized—there is no one-size-fits-all approach.
My husband and I share our home with three dogs, one cat, and two fish. Our working-line German Shepherds, Jade and Danger, both hold IGP 3 titles and have competed at the national level, with Danger heading to an international competition in Germany this April.
At the end of 2024, we lost our beloved 14.5-year-old puggle, Twix (pictured above). Since then, we’ve welcomed a new member to our pack—Deebo, a one-year-old Black Lab you’ll likely see enjoying time in our daycare yards. You may also spot our dog-savvy cat, Zoe, roaming the property.
I am a member of USCA, DVG, GSDCA, YMC Schutzhund Club, and the International Association of Canine Professionals.
When I’m not training dogs, I enjoy spending time with my husband Shane, our four-year-old daughter Mackenzie, our one-year-old son Cameron, and friends. As a family, we love hiking, boating, camping, and traveling.
As a Healdsburg native, it has always been my dream to start my own business here in Wine Country. It is truly my pleasure, along with my dedicated team, to provide these services to you and your dogs. I look forward to getting to know you and your dog(s)!
Caity
